How to Use “Not at All” Correctly
🌟 Introduction
“Not at all” is a powerful tool in English.
We use it to make a strong negative, often with auxiliaries:
do / does / did not at all
am/is/are not at all
have/has not at all
can/could not at all
We also use at all with nothing / nobody, and in negative questions.

📘 EXPLANATION
1) How do we build it?
Negative auxiliary + at all
Examples:
I don’t understand at all.
She didn’t help at all.
He can’t sleep at all.
I haven’t eaten at all.
It goes at the end of the clause.
2) With BE:
I’m not at all tired.
It’s not at all difficult.
They’re not at all interested.
3) With NOTHING / NOBODY
We use at all for emphasis:
Nothing at all happened.
Nobody at all knew the answer.
There was nothing at all in the fridge.
💥 Do not add another negative:
❌ There wasn’t nothing at all.
✔ There was nothing at all.
4) Short answers
Very common in conversation:
Do you mind?
→ Not at all.Thanks!
→ Not at all!
Meaning = para nada / en absoluto / no hay problema
5) Negative questions
Also useful here:
Aren’t you tired at all?
Isn’t he worried at all?
Didn’t it hurt at all?
We ask when we expect at least a little.
